I am a Muslim from China. I walked thirty minutes specifically to come to this mosque because my parents asked me to offer Sadaqah to the mosque here. However, when I tried to enter, the person at the entrance stopped me and did not allow me to go inside. I explained that I am a Muslim, but he urgently began to drive me away while interrogating me at the same time. He also pointed at my camera and scolded me (I know that photography is not allowed, and my camera was not turned on). I was unable to answer his questions (Islam has different sects and languages), but I recited the Shahada, and he still chased me away. I was deeply disappointed. When I told him that I had come to donate Sadaqah, his attitude immediately changed. But at that point, I no longer wished to donate here. These people have not learned the tolerance and peaceful treatment of others taught by the Prophet Muhammad. They are merely a group that is self-righteous and greedy for money. They do not understand Islamic culture; instead, they use a small amount of power to bully others. This is not truly halal at all. I believe that Allah sees everything. My visit time:2026/01/25 17:30

The mosque sits on top of a prominent hill, overlooking the Straits of Johor and was named for Sultan Abu Bakar, the father of Sultan Ibrahim who ordered its construction. It can accommodate 2,000 worshippers at any one time.

The mosque is clean. And large. Situated at the hill so it s photogenic area. Its been upgrade so old people are able to pray and going to toilet much easier with few stairs than before. Clean toilet but floor is slippery especially when there s lots of people using it. Slippers need to have a rack to put it so that the slippers does not SCATTER everywhere after use it. Suggested the management of the mosque put glass/wood sliding door near the sofa for woman side as most woman will come out wearing stokins outside since the toilet is always wet. Who knows men would be there, right?
