Mid Valley Southkey Mosaic @ RR JBcity
About
Mid Valley Southkey Mosaic is a serviced apartment complex in Johor Bahru. While some guests find the units spacious, many report significant issues, including poor cleanliness, stained furniture, thin mattresses, and inadequate bathroom maintenance. Guests frequently face challenges with building management, such as unclear deposit processes, unresponsiveness, and extreme wait times for elevators due to limited operational lifts.
Furthermore, the location’s accessibility to Mid Valley Southkey Mall is often described as misleading, as it is not easily walkable and requires navigating complex roads. Due to these persistent maintenance and management concerns, potential guests are advised to clarify booking terms directly and remain aware of potential facility and communication challenges before confirming their stay.

Rooms are quite terrible - you're not getting what you pay for. The place is spacious and roomy, but it's not clean. The mattress is really thin as well and the bed frame wobbles and creaks every time you turn. There were small dust/sand particles you can feel if you run your hands over the pillow cases and bedsheets. The toilets are rusty and the switches and rugs are horribly stained. I originally hoped to get a room with a bathtub, and i used booking.com which had photos of all the rooms for one booking. Upon reaching the place i realised mine does not have a bathtub and i requested if we could upgrade and pay the difference (it was about $10-$20 difference), and the staff just said no, it's not possible. Check-in is smooth and fuss-free though. The location is seemingly near to the mall but not really, the roads of JB arent very straightforward and you actually have to make a big loop around to get out of the compound. The mall closes around 10pm and thereafter you have little options nearby to explore compared to other areas you can stay in. :/

I recently stayed at Mosaic Southkey booked through Agoda, and the experience was highly disappointing for several reasons: 1. IC Request Against Malaysian Guidelines Upon check-in, I was asked to hand over my IC. This is unacceptable as Malaysian regulations clearly state that no one other than authorities should request or retain an IC. This practice is outdated and violates privacy. 2. Unclear and Unofficial Deposit Process Although I had already paid the full room fee via Agoda, I was suddenly asked by a group of agents (claiming to manage the unit) to pay an additional RM200 deposit outside the Agoda platform. This was never mentioned during booking. I had to waste time verifying with Agoda whether this was legitimate, which caused unnecessary stress and delay. 3. Lack of Transparency and Accountability When I asked for an official receipt for the deposit, they said it would only be issued after payment. After paying, they completely ignored my follow-up inquiries. Even worse, when I asked about the refund timeline, they refused to provide a clear date or any proper communication. This entire process felt unprofessional and misleading. Agoda should ensure that hosts and their agents follow proper procedures and respect customer rights. Guests should not be subjected to hidden charges, unofficial transactions, and poor communication.

Cannot recommend this place. Terribly overpriced (at least the one I booked was and comparing it to the others available on Airbnb, seems to be the trend for a lot of the other units). Tower B was heavily congested with only 4 elevators serving 33 floors worth of people with 6 units each at bare minimum. To make matters worse one lift was down for the count and each one takes so wearily long to get people ANYWHERE. We could spend up to 30 minutes just trying to get back to our unit at any given time. The place was just too jammed pack and with the personnel restrictions that most hosts have per unit, it raises a brow as to why there are so many people flooding into the apartment at any given time (even at odd hours like 11PM) Location-wise this place is also atrocious. It's so-called "closeness to mid valley" is a farce as there are zero traffic lights and convenient means to walk to the mall. There's also NO convenience store nearby with the closest one being at least an 8 minute walk with a terrible road crossing (that has no traffic lights or zebra crossing). Can't stress this enough, this place isn't worth the trouble or money, you're better off finding another location.

This was the worst room I've ever stayed in. I don't know where all the positive reviews came from?! The worst part was the super gross used tissues under the bed not being cleaned. Just entered the room, there were three large bags of garbage that hadn't been thrown away, and the room also smelled of smoke. Self-checked in to find the building without any signage. In the room a lot of things, such as the washstand and hand sanitizer, were cluttered with unkempt, the towels were not folded, and the quilts are also messy. The total sanitary conditions were very poor. the toilet paper under the bed. Self-catering rooms are so poorly managed.

the rooms and cleanliness is reasonable but stayed at #22-13. they only gave us 3 glasses for two families of 10. management said they will arrange for a mattress for our helper but on arrival, told us that they do not provide. We also initially thought that this condo in southkey is within walking distance to midvalley southkey mall but it is not, still have to drive and park in the mall, very difficult to find carpark, not possible to walk. Took us an hour waiting for the lift to go down and check out because 3 out of 4 lifts are not working. Every lift is full and there is no ventilation at the lift lobby.
