This was my first time visiting this hypermarket, as I had errands nearby and decided to stop by to buy chicken. While queuing at the chicken counter, I was almost at my turn when a foreign staff member attempted to take my chicken. A Malay staff member who was cutting the chicken stopped him and asked him to weigh another customer’s order (around five bags) even though that customer was not present. I didn’t mind waiting, assuming it was urgent. However, what happened next was completely unacceptable. The same staff member returned to take mine and the same thing happened, the malay man told him ‘oii tu amik yang belakang’ and instead of taking my chicken, he ignored me entirely and took the chicken from the person behind me , as if I wasn’t even standing there. I was holding my chicken clearly in front of him, so it was impossible not to see me. I was extremely upset and decided to leave the chicken and make a complaint. When I asked for the manager, I was told that the manager was off and that the same staff member who was cutting the chicken was the person in charge. Seriously? Customers are paying for items, not asking for free food. Basic respect and fairness should be non-negotiable. The way I was treated was disgusting and disrespectful. It honestly made me question whether I was treated this way because I am Indian. I don’t make such assumptions lightly, but there was no reasonable explanation for being ignored so blatantly. I am attaching a picture of the staff member involved, and I sincerely hope management takes this seriously and address such behavior. No employee should act as if they “own” the counter or get to decide which customers deserve service. Very disappointing experience, especially for a first visit.

This huge Giant supermarket at Pelangi Leisure Mall has been there for a number of decades - serving not just nearby residents, but even regular visitors from Singapore. Owing to its huge footprint in the mall, its product range is very very wide and it is very very well stocked. However that said I was disappointed today when I visited this supermarket because its system was "down" and I could not redeem my SARA aid. Hopefully the system will be "up" on my next visit.

Overall is cheap grocery. Fresh food section not fresh though compared to other supermarkets. There is one chinese auntie (security guard) in white uniform at entrance, just be wary of her as she targets Singaporeans to strike convo, follow you to your car, ask you what you buy, etc, even touching picking up your purchase from the trolley. Her intention is once you load up all the goods to your car, she propose she push back the trolley for you, in turn taking the RM50cent from the trolley. I know many will say it is just RM 50 cent, but it is the whole act of it that is annoying, particularly touching people's purchase for the end purpose of taking 50cent.

huge supermarket with all the items so neatly placed, its a shopping heaven for those who like to shop at supermarket!! observed to be cheaper for some items compared to lotus at ksl have carpark right in front as well for those who drives and want to do bulk grocery shopping

A quick drop by to pick up some dried stuff on a Thursday morning. Pretty much well stocked with items that I am looking for. Environment remains clean and neat for a supermarket. Had not been here for a very long time and noticed some constructions on-going right infront of mall entrance.
