If you see a book you like, you may ask the friendly staff for the price 👍🏻 Free to visit and you may make a donation to them if you would like to support them.

Took a walk around Komtar after filling our tummy and stumbled upon the History Gallery of Johor! It’s more than just artifacts and some items are even available for purchase. The best part is that entry is free, though donations are welcome (highly recommend to donate to support them!). I wished we could’ve spent more time there since we didn’t cover the whole place, but it was already around 9pm. The guy who took care of the gallery is super friendly too. Definitely planning to come back!

This is a gallery that opened after the MCO was lifted. There are various historical artefacts, books, coins, stamps and much more (look out for the WWII-era bicycles used by Japanese soldiers to ride down the Malay Peninsula, the old Dutch cannonballs, the banana money banknotes etc). I have enjoyed my visits thus far - if you see something you like in the gallery (most are for sale), don't hesitate to ask the friendly boss/staff for the price. There is a stone container right outside the gallery where you can drop some ringgit bills to support the History Society- do chip in if you can 5 stars and would highly recommend - as far as I know, this is the only such history gallery in Johor Bahru
