ESCAPE Johor Bahru
About
ESCAPE Johor Bahru is an indoor adventure park in Paradigm Mall featuring obstacle courses and physical challenges. While many children enjoy the activities and the day-pass access, there are recurring, significant concerns raised by visitors regarding staff oversight, safety protocols, and the physical requirements for participating in certain courses. Some parents report that staff may not be sufficiently attentive during busy times. Due to these polarized reviews regarding safety management and child supervision, visitors are strongly encouraged to assess the environment closely before participating. Please consider asking about the current age and height requirements for specific courses before booking.

Our kids age 11 and 9 enjoyed the entire session, it’s a day pass so you can come in and out anytime. The staff mentioned minimum 120cm to go for the level 2 obstacle station but I believe needs to be higher. My child is around 128cm and he needs to tiptoe a little bit to clip/unclip the carabiner at some stations. But all good, he enjoyed so much that he kept on going back. Go to level 4, try either the zip coaster to go down to level 2 and head towards the harness station, or try go down via a mini bungee to level 2. Once you reach the harness station, the staff will brief you or the kids how to use the carabiner. The staff is also not there to eye-power your kids so this place is better for kids to figure out on their own. Meaning, if he’s stuck, let him figure his way out. When my boy was stuck for quite sometime in the middle of level 2, the staff went to him. Parents, please don’t micro-manage the kids as it prevents the kid to overcome the stages. If you want to guide your child throughout the session, you should join your kid. Because when you command your kids as a spectator, my kid was confused at the same time. Great for upper primary school kids and secondary school kids to build confidence.

The hardware setup was pretty good, but the place was seriously under staff when we visited during a public holiday. There was only 1 staff who had to attend to incoming players for wearing the safety harness, and to attend to all children’s call for assistance as they struggled to maneuver the safety harness around the challenges. We waited for almost 30 minutes before we could start playing. The other staff who was in charge of the ride (shown in photo) was not helpful at all, he simply ignored the crowd and when other people approached him for assistance , he was very rude to the visitors.

Under staff and super slow. There is only one staff handling the slingshot and the tree climbing. Waited for 30 mins cause no one was able to attend to kid. Do not waste your time coming here over the weekends. Play only in weekday when they have no crowd. See the crowd before deciding if you want to play.

Strongly recommend the parents to participate with the kid instead of standing outside and shouting instructions. So lihai, ownself come in clear all the L1 to L3 in one day then say. At least show ur kids what you as the adult can do on the same playing field, supporting them! Go early. Anyway, seriously under staffed at top floor where there's a small gate that leads to an OPEN DROP AREA. There's a vid of this with a kid holding the gate open and not hooked up on the review. Kids, yknow! Someone could really get unalive. Top floor needs minimum 3 pax staff I'd reckon. 03Jan2025 I was there, only 2 up there the whole day incl the guy launching the ride from the tower. IIRC for the others seemed like: Trampoline and trapeze area 2 pax Slide zero, closed. Monkey 4 pax Slingshot closed for maintenance Tree climbing 1 pax. Due to the nature of the Monkey courses, occasionally traffic jams occur when some kid gets scared and can't continue or wet themselves... MYBFD. Even the top floor's practice area also can have traffic jam lol. Dun want traffic jam? Try the Level 3 run without cheating. Sibei song. Lol. Done in 80 mins with breaks on the perches, chatting with passerbys and being encouraged by kids all over the place from aisles, foodcourt, y'know everywhere lol Feeling accomplished for a middle aged person, in a children's indoor adventure park. But once is much plenty really!

Safety is a huge issue, website sells tickets for 4 years old onwards but my 5 year old couldn’t even reach the line to clip on the carabiner. Staff were not helpful either, leaving the children to do most clipping on etc. and they were mostly on their phones. PLEASE SEE ATTACHED PIC. Also parents cannot even ENTER to watch for safety. You want to enter? Can. Pay RM113 for adult entry. Just out to earn your money without consideration for safety. First and last time. Saw management’s reply - clearly bothering only to be defensive. My kid wasn’t even tall enough to clip the carabiner and yet he was allowed in because he was of age. He almost fell off the platform a few times. Also, would you care to comment on the attached pic of your staff using handphone while there were kids inside? So much for safety. Anyway the overall Google rating of 3.3 (just dropped to 3.2?!?!) says it all. And all reviews about safety issues - just saw a review about a parent complaining about how the kid also couldn’t reach to clip the carabiner. Poor management with zero considerations for safety. If you’re not open to feedback then don’t claim that you are. Lousy. Also saw kids wearing crocs inside playing. A kid even dropped the croc when on the course.
